FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: medicine infusion device adjustable by patient includes housing, pump, inlet channel, outlet channel, holder, piston, button actuating piston, compressed spring between piston and button, spring latch and latch disengaging unit on piston. Housing encases cavity extended in axial direction, with top and bottom end parts. Pump is mounted close to bottom end part of cavity and includes vessel with first wall fixed in the cavity and second wall moving freely against the first wall inside cavity between full and empty cavity positions. First end part of inlet channel is connected to inlet pump hole, while second end part is connected to source of fluid medicine fed under pressure. First end part of outlet channel is connected to outlet pump hole, while the opposite second end part is installed subcutaneously to patient. Holder mounted inside the cavity switches between 'CLOSED' position blocking outlet channel and thus stopping fluid flow coming from it, and 'OPEN' position where the holder is disconnected from outlet channel, thus allowing fluid flow through it, with holder shifted towards 'CLOSED' position. Piston contacts second vessel wall to maintain axial movement within the cavity between first position of second wall whet the vessel is filled and second position when the vessel is empty. Button actuating piston passes through top end part of cavity and rests inside the cavity shifting axially between pressed and released position. Button has locker for button latching in presses position, and lug catching holder and shifting it into 'OPEN' position, when the button is shifted into pressed position. Spring latch mounted in the cavity grips the locker firmly in button when button shifts to pressed position, and holds button pressed, compensating spring force. Latch disengaging unit on the piston disengages spring latch from holder in button when piston moves to second position. Invention allows performing fluid medicine infusion both continuously and in bolus form. Bolus dosages can be safely infused by patient by pressing one button quickly, activating long fluid discharge by pump, so that the patient does not need to hold the button pressed during discharge, and pump intake stroke is performed automatically by the device, without additional control or action of patient.
EFFECT: efficient and convenient device.
