FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: before launching the aircraft is connected to the thrower on the catapult bogie using the interface attachment and the bogie with the aircraft and thrower are fixed in launching position. Then the bogie is released and speeded up along the catapult guide unit up to the aircraft takeoff speed, then the bogie is braked by the catapult brake. In the beginning of the braking stage the aircraft is inertially forced up by the bogie thrower under the action of its kinetic energy. At the same time the interface attachment is uncoupled and the aircraft is released from the bogie thrower. The catapult includes a guiding, accelerating and braking units and also a thrower and bogie.
