FIELD: aircraft equipment.

SUBSTANCE: devices and methods for taking off unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). A pneumatic catapult for aircraft take-off contains a sealed working cylinder with a chamber for compressed gas with a piston in the form of a cylindrical boom, a compressed gas filling unit, a docking unit with the aircraft, rotating front supports and a rear support. A trigger mechanism is fixed to the bottom of the docking unit, and a servo drive is installed on the lower surface of its body. A spring-loaded locking hook is installed inside the body. To take off the aircraft, unfold the front supports of the pneumatic ejector, install the aircraft on the boom, push the boom with the installed aircraft into the working cylinder, fill the cavity of the working cylinder with compressed gas, start the aircraft engine, operate the trigger mechanism in manual or automatic mode. After the aircraft takes off, the boom is picked up and used for subsequent launch.

EFFECT: design of the pneumatic ejector is simplified and the aircraft take-off reliability is increased.
