FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: in volume of skull crucible it is created sign-changing magnetic field by electromagnet, magnetic conductor of which are ferromagnetic casing of furnace itself, ferromagnetic polar tips and ferromagnetic inserts with coils, connected to intermittent source of current source and during melting there are compensated impact of magnetic field of ferromagnetic casting mould for gradient of circuit current. consumable electrode - voltaic arc - wall accretion - capsule casing by oncoming magnetic field of casting mould, created by means of its installation into solenoid, coils of which are connected to source of direct current for period of melt discharge from capsule into casting mould and formation of ingot switched on arc current source and pulsed source of sign-changing current of exciting coil, and source of direct current of solenoid is transferred into mode of short unidirectional pulses current with creation in walls of steel mould of magnetostriction for thickening of metal of formed ingot and impact on crystallisation of liquid metal in ingot to its mechanical oscillations.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase the quality of molten ingot and by means of increasing of metal density, increasing of explosion safety of melting process.
