FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: in compliance with the proposed method, toothed frequencies of the vehicle mechanisms, their harmonics and propeller shaft intrinsic frequency are determined. Then the vehicle is tested, its outside noise is recorded and its spectral characteristics are analysed. If the frequencies corresponding to peaks in the noise spectrum coincide with the shaft vibration intrinsic frequencies, the shaft vibration shapes are determined for these frequencies to mount dampers at the areas of vibration rate crests.

EFFECT: noise reduction.
