FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: semiconductor light source aims at replacing standard cap incandescent lamp of diameter not exceeding 10 mm in different purpose equipment. Light source represents the monolithic hybrid integrated circuit consisting of standard lamp cap (1), cylindrical light guide (2) and emitting diode crystals (3). Crystals are soldered onto conducting pads of ceramic segment of heat sink substrate (4) being soldered joint of heat-conducting ceramics and metal. End face of cylindrical light guide is recessed as a ball segment (5). According to the invention, geometry of light source optical elements, namely light guide diameter and height, recess diameter and height, crystal pad diameter are related by certain ratios.

EFFECT: provided radiation pattern close to the circular, and the greatest possible external quantum efficiency.
