FIELD: robotics.

SUBSTANCE: method is intended for charging of robot vacuum cleaner that cleans surface moving independently on it. Method includes user manual shifting of robot vacuum cleaner tight to charging device for its manual charging, recognition of joint condition between charge terminals of charging device and contact terminals of robot vacuum cleaner, confirmation of whether robot vacuum cleaner is located at specified distance from charging device, if charge terminals and contact terminals are disconnected from each other. Specified confirmation is realised as specified time expires after confirmation has been received that charge and contact terminals are disconnected from each other, by detection of close distance signals sent from charging device, and confirmation of robot vacuum cleaner location in front of charging device, when signal of close distance has been detected. Then automatic charging mode is realised, in which robot vacuum cleaner automatically moves and joins to charging device for electric discharge, if robot vacuum cleaner is located at specified distance from charging device.

EFFECT: provision of possibility to detect wrong connection between contact and charge terminals and prevention of wrong installation of robot vacuum cleaner relative to charging device in process of manual charging of robot vacuum cleaner.
