FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of production of N,N-dimethyl-(3-carbamoyl)-1,3-thiazetidine of formula I: . The substance produced by the disclosed method can be applied as a modified selective sorbent and extractant of noble and precious metals. Substance of the method consists in interaction of hydrogen sulphide aqueous solution of formalin and aqueous solution N,N-dimethylcarbamide at mole ratio N,N-dimethylcarbamide: formaldehyde: hydrogen sulphide equal to 1:3:2, at temperature 0-50°C, continuously stirred within 6 hours and purification with chromatographic column on SiO2, of eluent petroleum ester - ethyl acetate - diethyl ether in ratio 2:2:1.
EFFECT: allows to produce N,N-dimethyl-(3-carbamoyl)-1,3-thiazetidine selectively.
