SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fodder production for farm livestock. Method of preparing cultures for conserving plant substrates, provides for the selection of strains of mesophilic lactobacillus by the resistance to virulent bacteriophage, circulating in conserved plant substrates, and strains of propionate bacteria of the species P.freudenreichii in the capability to ferment plant carbohydrates, actively grow in plant substrates and display biocompatibility with the chosen strains of mesophilic lactobacilli, their separate cultivation, mixing and drying.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the output and quality of silage.
