FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to machine building, particularly to the method of making multilayered shell-type metallopolymer structures of housing components with heat resistant filler, used in aviation and rocket engineering. The method of making the protective housing involves sealing the cavity between outer and inner shells, filling the cavity with thermo-insulating material and foaming the material. The region of maximum concentration of tension on the inner shell is predetermined. The material of the inner shell is put onto a mandrel, and foaming is done simultaneously with moulding of the inner shell and joining the formed layers. After removing the mandrel, the stress field on the inner shell is equalised by making incisions along lines with critical level of stress distribution and subsequent restoration of integrity of the shell.
EFFECT: improved method of making a protective housing.
