FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed tool incorporates a holder with two spring-loaded cooled rollers, current supply line to connect the roller hardening-deforming elements to the current source, and a system and maintain the temperature of the said hardening-deforming roller working surfaces in required operating range. The aforesaid hardening-deforming ring-like elements are fixed on the rollers. The current supply line comprises current collectors made from chemically and electrically homogeneous materials. The said current collectors include fixed and movable contacts along with the elements of mechanical and electrical linkage. The said fixed contacts are connected to movable contacts via a high-conductivity fluid medium. The roller hardening-deforming elements are connected to movable contacts via aforesaid elements of mechanical and electrical linkage. Both contacts are made from materials that inhibit wetting with the fluid medium. Fixed contacts are connected to the current source. The rollers are electrically isolated from the holder.
EFFECT: stability of current supply line contact resistance, increased depth of workpiece surface hardening.
