FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for reduction of cylinder shaped machine details by the method of electrical contact overlaying, particularly to reduction of such worn surfaces as a shaft surface. Flat metal is continuously pressed to the detail with a roller and this flat is welded to a rotating detail. On the surface of the restored detail a welding bath is created by means of a source of heating which melts a surface layer of the detail. The flat is heated with the same source of heating. In the process of pressing the flat and the obtained layer metal are plastically deformed when the deforming roller is energised. A high frequency arc up to 2000 Hz of a non consumable electrode with a low current strength of 6-8 ampere is used as a heating source. Additionally by means of cross magnetic field introduced into a welding zone the arc directed onto the detail and the flat is regulated. Heat input adjustment into the detail and wire is performed by changing a tilt angle of cross magnetic field and non consumable electrode tilt angle. Welding is performed in protective gas medium. To achieve qualitative adhesion the flat is preliminary etched by acid.
EFFECT: obtaining full strength welded connection, reducing internal strengths and deformations, and upgrading adhesion of a detail with a flat.
