FIELD: engineering industry.
SUBSTANCE: spherical joint refers to engineering industry, and namely to ball hinges of car suspension. The spherical joint consists of the housing made of two parts in the form of covers that are rigidly attached to each other, with a ball pin enclosed in the housing. The surface of the pin ball-shaped head is covered with an insert made from antifriction material. Space between insert and housing is filled with thermoplastic filler. Filler is modified with metal grains of various diameter of 0.1 to 1.5 mm. Metal grains are located chaotically in the gap between housing and insert, and fill in the space to the full extent. The effect is that introduction of metal grains of various diameter provides tight filling of the spherical joint space between insert and inner wall of the housing, thus ensuring stiffness; modification of the filler increases effective elastic modulus by means of metal grains, which leads to increase of the spherical joint load-carrying capacity, and extends service life; and introduction of metal grains of various diameter provides higher conductivity factor of modified filler as well.
EFFECT: ensuring stiffness; increasing effective elastic modulus, which leads to increase of spherical joint load-carrying capacity, and extends service life; and providing higher conductivity factor of modified filler.
