FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in creation of friction support units, where spherical hinge bearings are used as sliding bearings. The ball support comprises a body made of two parts in the form of lids, which are inseparably connected to each other, with a spherical head enclosed in the body. The space between the ball pin and the body is filled with a liner and a filler with metal granules. Material of the ball pin is made of cast nickel alloy EI-578, a composite compound (HfO2+HfB2) is applied on its spherical surface with an electric spark method.
EFFECT: increasing the wear resistance of the ball bearing with spherical sliding bearing due to obtained antifriction properties, formation of new antifriction materials of durable layers on the working surfaces, increasing service life of the entire friction support as a whole.
