FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to post-mortem and forensic medical examination and can be used immediately autopsy. Brain state is estimated with evaluation autopsy cerebellum weight. The average cerebellum weight (in grams) is predetermined for men and women considering their age including in 20-60 aged male dolichocephalic persons 137.2±2.8, mesocephalic - 143.0±3.1, brachycephalic - 149.9±4.3, hyperbrachicephalic - 157.0±5.2, in 20-60 aged female dolichocephalic persons 125.0±2.1, mesocephalic - 128.4±5.1, brachycephalic - 134.7±1.2, hyperbrachicephalic - 139.1±4.5. If the cerebellum weight is increased by 10 g and more relative to specified average data, brain state is considered as swelling edema, while atrophy or dystrophy is manifested by reduced cerebellum weight relative to specified average data by 10 g and more.
EFFECT: method allows estimating brain state immediately in autopsy.
