FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: present invention is meant for heat exchange and can be used in a furnace for vapour-phase cracking. The furnace has a combustor and a radiant coil. The radiant coil has several radiant heat exchangers, placed successively inside the combustor. Each of the radiant heat exchangers has a pipe, heated using a burner. A body is put inside the pipe such that the fluid medium flows around the body. The body can receive radiant energy radiated by the pipe covering the body. The body is in the form of a cylinder with ogives on its two ends. One ogive is located at the end facing the incoming stream, and the other is on the opposite end, located lower downstream. The body is put at the centre inside the pipe so as to form an annular gap with constant width. The method of increasing selectivity and reducing carbon deposits, reduction of their accumulation and coking in the furnace for vapour-phase cracking in conditions for producing ethylene is based on cutting the duration of contact of the gas with the wall of the pipe. Temperature of metal in the furnace lies between 900°C and 1175°C and temperature of process gas lies between 600°C and 900°C.
EFFECT: more efficient heat exchange.
