FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for estimate of skeletal muscle structural features. Transverse ultrasonic scanning of muscles involves compression distraction loading. An interest zone is evaluated by muscular longitudinal axis. It is combined with its longitudinal scanning. A muscle is examined prior to limb lengthening, in lengthening, as fixed and to evaluate modal histogram muscular echodensity distribution and calculate the relative structural sonographic muscle heterogeneity (RSSMH) by mathematical expression: RSSMH=[N(long)-N(transv)]/N(long). If RSSMH≥0.3 structural features are considered to correspond to physiologically normal structural muscle heterogeneity, while 0.3>RSSMH≥0.1 indicate moderately lowered heterogeneity, with RSSMH<0.1 or negative show low heterogeneity.
EFFECT: method is noninvasive, allows estimating structural sonographic quantitative skeletal muscle heterogeneity exposed to prolonged deformation loadings and in afterload/recovery period.
