FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ultrasound diagnostics, and can be used for non-invasive assessment of the structure of the rectus abdominis muscles. For this, a longitudinal ultrasonographic scanning is performed with a linear sensor of the rectus abdominis muscle at rest. Images of the tissue of the muscle itself and its tendon jumper are displayed on the screen. In the “histogram” measurement mode, a square area of the tendon jumper of the rectus abdominis muscle is isolated between the sheets of the rectus muscle sheath. Determine the average value of the pixel intensity at the specified section of the bridge. Allocate areas of muscle abdomen similar in area outside the bridge, on opposite sides of it, while the centers of the selected zones are located in the center of the corresponding abdomen on its longitudinal axis. Then, the arithmetic mean of the average values of the intensity of the pixels of the abdominal muscles is determined and the relative degree of echogenicity of the rectus abdominis muscle is calculated, which is equal to the ratio of the average value of the intensity of the pixels of the abdominal muscles to the average value of the pixel intensity in the specified area of its tendon bridge. And when the relative degree of echogenicity of the rectus abdominis muscle is less than 1.2, it is determined that the diameter of the muscle fibers is less than 45 mcm. With a relative degree of echogenicity of the rectus abdominis muscle from 1.2 to 1.5, the diameter of the muscle fibers ranges from 45 to 55 mcm. When the relative degree of echogenicity of the rectus abdominis muscle is more than 1.5, it is determined that the value of the diameter of the muscle fibers is 56 mcm or more.
EFFECT: method provides an adequate assessment of the severity of fibro-atrophic processes in the muscle due to non-invasive assessment of the diameter of the muscle fibers of the rectus abdominis muscles.
