FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automated control of traction and braking forces of connected trains with several locomotives from the position of driving locomotive. Method comprises control over radio channel by traction and braking means of connected freight trains from head locomotive, state of braking pneumatic equipment of driven locomotives is controlled on driving locomotive, in case of reception of signal on failure of braking equipment on driving locomotive at least on one slave locomotive on driving locomotive formation and transmission to all slave locomotives of signal activating their emergency braking valves is performed, then, when a signal is received on the driving locomotive, which confirms the use of emergency braking on the driven locomotives, a braking step is formed on it, followed by adjustment of its depth to the level of emergency braking.
EFFECT: higher safety of connected freight trains at control of one locomotive crew from the position of driving locomotive.
