FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes gas extraction and its temperature measurement above the stockline. Mouth area is separated for five equal y area rings from the axis of furnace till the parallel portion of stockline-wearing plate or its wedge part, or imaginary line, transmitted from the wedged part of stockline-wearing plates till gas outlet bottom. Then there are installed thermocouples and measured temperature of peripheral gas under axis of gas outlets in the middle of the peripheral rings area and the temperature of top smoke in gas outlets of furnace by its vertical axes. And definition of descriptive statistic of gas flow by radius of furnace is implemented on the basis of formula: Kpc=tpg/tts, where tpg - average temperature of peripheral gas, °C; tts - average temperature of top smoke.
EFFECT: continuous automatic control of radial distribution of gas in furnace.
