FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to non-contact determination of dielectric constant of different products and can be used when designing devices, for example, for determining quality of oil-products or content of ethanol in alcohol containing solutions during production, storage, distribution, transportation and rapid analysis. The said method is based on measuring the period of oscillation of an electrical loop, in the circuit of which is connected a capacitive sensor, which changes its capacitance when put into the analysed dielectric product. The dielectric constant is determined from the square of the ratio of specified periods of free oscillation of the loop, in the circuit of which is alternately connected a capacitive sensor with the analysed product and a capacitive sensor with a standard product. The specified period of oscillation of the loop is calculated using a formula, which links the specified period of oscillation of the loop, the measured period of oscillation of the loop, the amplitude of the largest half-wave oscillation of the loop and the amplitude of the smallest half-wave oscillation of the loop. The amplitudes are measured in the same period.
EFFECT: reduced the effect of stability of measuring devices and temperature on accuracy of measuring the dielectric constant of the analysed product.
