FIELD: railway transport industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to setting of operational characteristics before entering the tunnel. The method consists in setting of specified operational characteristics of at least one chosen locomotive in the train at preparation for going through the tunnel when the train approaches tunnel entry. Conditions inside the tunnel and chosen locomotive operation are controlled inside the tunnel when the train goes through the tunnel. It includes dynamic changing of operational characteristics configuration of chosen locomotive according to the controlled conditions inside of the tunnel and operation of the chosen locomotive inside the tunnel. Thus, pulling force sufficient for train movement through the tunnel according to the plan is achieved and locomotive operation is optimised. Once again operational characteristics of chosen locomotive are set when the train approaches tunnel exit for facilitation of chosen locomotive recovery from influence of going through the tunnel.
EFFECT: increase of train operation effectiveness before, during and after going through the tunnel.
