SUBSTANCE: proposed device for controlling the space in front of an escalator and operating the transmission contains sensors placed on the covers of the entrance of the handrails of the balustrade. Each sensor consists of a transmitter and a receiver and works with high-frequency waves with the capability of controlling the approach to the escalator in a specific zone for example the zone of the entrance slab. During the entrance to the zone controlled by the sensor, the high-frequency waves emitted by the transmitter are reflected from a person or an object and received by the corresponding receiver, and the transmission switches on.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of work and protection from vandalism.
