FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to continuous casting of metals, particularly steel. To facilitate exchange of liquid metal inside the pool of solidifying between the zone of the secondary cooling and crystalliser in the above said zone of the secondary cooling there is created forced lengthwise flow of metal localised in middle region of the cast item with two opposite co-linear flows and facilitating "four-leafed" general circulation of liquid metal in form of two upper ones and two lower flows, forming "leafs", two upper ones of which reach the level of jets in the crystalliser, the said jets going out of outlet channels of immersed pouring nozzle.
EFFECT: general mixing of metal along whole metallurgical length, thermal and chemical uniformity between upper and lower parts of liquid pool at maintaining positive effect relevant to mixing in crystalliser and in zone of secondary cooling; also mode of local flowing in crystalliser is not violated, but rather improved.
