FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling where metallic strip is subject to deformation by means of at least one roll. Method includes definition of positional relationship of neutral point in area of contact arc between metallic strip and roll and if necessary rolling process stabilisation after definition of neutral point position. It is implemented measurement of the first and the second group of parametres, herewith tension value of lengthwise plastic yielding of metallic strip and value of hydrostatic pressure in neutral point is defined as not measured by direct way parametres, and estimated, particularly by means of mathematical model for different method of rolling process on the basis of the first and the second groups of measured parametres subject to modulus of elongation and compression modulus of metallic strip. The first group forms outstripping, strip thickness at outlet into the clearance between rolls, strip thickness at outlet from the clearance between rolls, and also strip tension at outlet from the clearance between rolls, and the second group forms strip tension at outlet through the clearance between rolls, rolling effort, width of metallic strip, roll radius, and also roller modulus of elongation.
