METHOD OF PRODUCING METAL STRIP Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC B21B1/28 

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used in hot strip rolling at continuous wide-strip continuous rolling mils. Proposed method comprises reduction of strip over thickness at rolls by application of rear and front rolling draft. Note here that rolling is performed by smoothing distribution of drafts over strip width by means of rear draft factor ξ₀ = 0.9-1.0 and front draft factor ξ₁ making, at least, 0.05 defined by equations: $${\xi }_0=1-\frac{{\sigma }_0}{{\sigma }_{ТЗ}}$$ and $${\xi }_1=1-\frac{{\sigma }_1}{{\sigma }_{ТП}}$$ where σ₀, σ₁ are front and rear draft; σ_"ТЗ", σ_"ТП" are strip yield points before and after reduction while $${\xi }_1=\frac{({\xi }_0\cdot \delta +k)\left[1-\epsilon {(1-\epsilon )}^{\delta }\right]-k}{\delta }$$ , where $$\delta =\frac{2f}{\alpha }$$ is rolling parameter; f is contact friction factor; α is nip angle, rad, ε is relative reduction, mm; R is radius of working roll, mm; $$k=\frac{1+(1+\epsilon )}{2}$$ is a strip hardening factor.

EFFECT: decreased difference in strip widths, ruled out crack formation.
