FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the method of (3R, 7R)-hexahydrofarnesylbromide or (3R,7R)-1-bromine-3,7,11-trimethyldodecan preparation. The process includes: 1) conversion of the (6R,10R)-6,10,14-trimethylpentadecan-2-on [(R,R)-fiton] to enoleacetate by the reaction of [(R,R)-fiton] with acetic anhydride in the presence of n-toluene sulphonic acid at mole ratio fiton: Ac2O : n-TsOH = 1.1:4.4:0.08, under the action of UHF-radiation in the utility-type microwave oven (power 750 W) during 10 min; 2) enoleacetate oxidation to the corresponding C16-acid in the presence of Ba(OH)2 in acetone at room temperature; 3) conversion of C16-acid to the target product by Hunsdiecker reaction with bromine.
EFFECT: high optical purity of the product, short synthesis-time and good yield.
