SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the method of producing (S)-3-(aminomethyl)-5-methylhexanoic acid of the formula I , used in the treatment of some neuropathic diseases, by enantioselective accession of diethylmalonate to 4-methyl-1-nitropentane-1 followed by the reduction and acid hydrolysis of the adduct according to diagram 1
.
The method is characterized by the fact that at the stage of joining the catalyst is a complex of nickel (II) of the formula II with (2S,3S)-N,N'-dibenzylbicyclo [2.2.2]octane-2,3-diamine.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the enantioselectivity of the process.
