FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing optically pure sulphoxides. The method involves reaction of asymmetric thioethers, which contain alkyl and/or aromatic substitutes, with chiral complexes of titanium or molybdenum or vanadium with silane-type tetradentate O,N,N,O-donor ligands, which are bis(salicyl)ethylenediamine derivatives, and an oxidising agent in a solvent medium. The solvent is selected from a group comprising methylene chloride, chloroform, tetrachloromethane, toluene, methanol or mixture thereof.
EFFECT: low catalyst/substrate ratio.
