SUBSTANCE: method of determining dissipative characteristics of friction couples involves loading a friction couple with an external radial force F, rotation of the movable element of the friction couple using a dc motor with constant angular velocity Ω, measuring voltage U and current I in the armature winding of the motor, repeating measurement of voltage U0 and current I0 in the armature winding of the motor during rotation of the movable element of the friction couple without an external loading force, repeating measurement at different values of velocity Ω and calculating the coefficient of friction and equivalent dissipative coefficient using the following formulae, respectively: where R is the rotating friction surface; r is active resistance of the armature winding of the drive motor.
EFFECT: easy implementation and broader functionalities of determining coefficient of friction and equivalent dissipative coefficient of friction couples due to use of a drive motor when measuring variables.
