SUBSTANCE: proposed invention is a method and a device, which implements the method for labelling images. In the method an image with positionally encoded information is analysed and labelled, based on the degree to which the document's content occludes the positionally encoded information. Depending on such a degree of occlusion, it may not be possible to extract enough position-encoding bits from a camera-captured image of the document to determine the camera-captured image's location within the document.
EFFECT: results of document analysis and labeling processing may be used for efficient determination of the location of a camera-captured image on a positionally encoded document.
