FIELD: physics; control.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for controlling and measuring technological processes and is meant for regulating flow of fluid media. The device for regulating flow of process media contains a closing mechanism. The latter is put into a stream pipe. The closing mechanism has an alternating inner diametre. The closing mechanism is preferably an iris diaphragm. The device also contains a differential pressure sensor for measuring pressure drop at opposite sides of the diaphragm. A controller receives the pressure drop signal and generates a control signal for an actuating mechanism. The latter actuates the closing mechanism. The closing mechanism, differential pressure sensor and controller form a flow controller with a closed loop in a single technological device. There is a method of measuring flow of process fluid medium, as well as a method of checking operation of the device.
EFFECT: possibility of integrating a system for regulating flow of the process fluid medium.
