FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to the method of simultaneous activation of several photocathodes, which are used in electro-optical converters (EOC), photomultipliers, photon counters and other photosensitive devices. The simultaneously activated photocathodes number between 6 and 12. Each photocurrent value of each photocathode is controlled using separate electrodes for collecting photoelectrons, across which positive voltage is applied from the power supply through photocurrent measuring device(s). Negative voltage is applied across the photocathodes. Screens provide for spatial separation and uniformity of applying caesium on the photocathodes.
EFFECT: method of simultaneous activation of several photocathodes provides for individual activation of each photocathode depending on its phorocurrent, which increases sensitivity of the photocathode by 20÷25%.
