FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunications and allows for shaping ultra-short (less 1 ns) electromagnetic pulses by means of bound ferroelectric transmission lines. The pulse shaper based, for example, on bound coplanar transmission lines contains metal electrodes (8, 9, 10, 11) mounted on ferromagnetic layer (12), which is formed on the substrate made up from linear dielectric (13). Ferroelectric and electrodes (8 and 9) produce excitation line (1) which is shaper input (6). Accordingly, ferroelectric and electrodes (10 and 11) form branching line (4), which ends up with a shaper output. Electrodes (8 and 9) together with linear dielectric form a section of linear transmission line (2). There is a ferroelectric capacitor between electrodes (8 and 9) on the end of linear transmission line section. The said ferroelectric capacitor is short-circuited.

EFFECT: development of device to shape ultra-short, electromagnetic pulses where pulse duration is controlled electrically and produced pulses have both positive and negative polarity.
