FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination and control of mercury content in aqueous solutions and can be used for controlling content of mercury cations in aqueous solutions. Content of mercury is determined from the value of optical density at 230 nm of a sample of analysed solution after adding sodium sulphite solution taking into account background absorption.
EFFECT: cutting on duration of photometric reaction from 30 minutes to 1 minute.
