FIELD: radiolocation.
SUBSTANCE: suggested engineering solutions relate to the area of radiolocation and can be used for measurement of radial velocity of fast-moving objects in process of surveillance by surveillance radar station. In surveillance process that includes successive range measurement in two resolution units having different range values and calculation of radial velocity value effect is attained due to performance of the second range measurement in the same coverage area as for the first measurement; herewith spatial resolution unit having the closest angular coordinates to the first range measurement is selected for the second range measurement out of spatial resolution units where the object is detected. Radial velocity is calculated after verification of the specified range measurements belonging to the same object.
EFFECT: increase in measurement accuracy of radial velocity, decrease in time delay of radial velocity measurement, reduction in time and power consumption for measurement of radial velocity.
