SUBSTANCE: invention concerns data transfer networks. Invention claims useful channel connection (NKV) established from multimedia message service centre (MMNDZ) and, for instance obtaining from transmitter (STKG) a multimedia message for receiver (ETKG) to transmit notification message (MN) to receiver (ETKG) during SMS service session (IS), by which message receiver (ETKG) is informed on the appearance of multimedia message MMN for receiver (ETKG). Useful channel connection remains established until receiver (ETKG) assesses received notification message (MN) and performs MMS session (AS) to deliver multimedia message (MMN) content addressed to the receiver (ETKG), at multimedia message service centre (MMNDZ).

EFFECT: reduced time required for multimedia message transmission from any sender to any receiver.
