FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: faceted plate has primary cutting edges, which individually include edge at the top and two edges converging to each other. Behind the top edge there are surfaces made to direct chips: projecting surface forming part of ledge located behind the top edge along bisector between main edges and two lateral surfaces forming a band arranged behind. To improve chip direction at a distance behind the ledge there is formed a second projecting surface, upper part of which is located higher than the upper part of the first protruding surface.

EFFECT: chips which tend to pass or jump through the first projecting surface will be stopped and directed by the second higher protruding surface.
