SUBSTANCE: base network selection method for a wireless communication device is declared. For this purpose the method includes the stages where: at least one identifier of a base network is received; the identifier of a base network is chosen from the chosen identifier of a base network; the indicator indicating whether changeover of a base network is permitted, is established; it is determined whether the chosen identifier of a base network corresponds the shared network formed by the message of inquiry about registration, containing the chosen identifier of a base network; the indicator is included in the message of inquiry about registration; the message of inquiry about registration is transferred.

EFFECT: effective access to accessible land mobile networks of the general use for provision of wireless connection is permitted to the user equipment, and also uniform distribution of the user equipment on a network of the general use for traffic load reduction and effective resources distribution.
