FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: suggested invention is related to the field of definition of ice cover condition parametres with the help of hydraulic or pneumatic facilities, also to determination of physical-mechanical characteristics of ice and ice formations. Method for detection of adhesion and angle of friction of partially damaged ice volume with untouched ice cover consists in well drilling in ice, installation of probe in it, creation of high pressure in hydraulic cylinder, which creates insertion of indenters in well wall that are installed coaxially relative to hydraulic cylinder and pressure measurement in cylinder. Moreover, the second well is drilled at some distance from the first one, and ice core is pushed in it with height h1 having shape of truncated cone with base radius r1 with top radius r2, ice core is withdrawn, and measured pressure and measured geometric parameters of this ice core are used to identify angle of ice friction and adhesion.

EFFECT: expansion of list of identified characteristics of physical object.
