FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: complex system for determining ice strength characteristics in natural conditions and on samples refers to a measurement technique for measuring force or mechanical stress when ice is destroyed by hydraulic means. Complex system contains a hydraulic probe indenter with removable circular indenters, electrically operated hydraulic station, pressure gauge and pressure sensor. Complex system additionally contains a measuring unit for measuring the indenter penetration into ice and the force magnitude during insertion, and a multiplier is used to maintain the indenter insertion rate constant. Rate of indenter introduction is set by a flow regulator installed in a hydro station, and a detachable indenter in the form of a cylinder segment, coinciding in area with the base plate, is added to the probe-indenter.

EFFECT: technical result: enhanced functionality, improved quality and accuracy of measurements of ice strength characteristics in natural conditions and on samples.
