FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of colour measurement. Triple-colour RGB (R -red, G - green, B - blue) digital photocamera that serves for colorimetry of digital photo images, is previously calibrated by spectral colours. For this purpose in beam of light source that was transmitted through monochromator, spectral components of radiation visible part are sequentially separated in equal gaps. These separated spectral components of monochromatic light are used to alternately expose matrix of photoelectric receivers of triple-colour digital photocamera. Photoelectric receivers of RGB matrix illuminated by monochromatic colour generate electric currents iR(λ), iG(λ), iB(λ). After performance of spectral calibration, samples of measured colour and standard white colour are illuminated by source of white light, and then RGB is photographed by colour digital photocamera. Changing over from RGB system of digital photocamera into commonly accepted XYZ system, colour of measured sample is calculated with account of RGB matrix colours, and coordinates of sample coloration are defined, as well as its brightness (xs, ys, Ys).

EFFECT: improved accuracy of photoelectric colorimetry.
