FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building. Proposed ICE comprises crankcase, crankshaft with round crank webs, at least one pair of connecting rods, cylinder head with intake and exhaust channels, ignition plug or jet, in the case of diesel engine. Connecting rods are jointed directly to shaft rod journal, or one of each pair of connecting rods is articulated with the other main connecting rod jointed to crank web. The number of cylinder heads with aforesaid channels, ignition plugs or jets equals that of connecting rod pairs. Cylinder heads are arranged inside crankcase in symmetry with its inner generating line between the webs. One rocker is articulated with each connecting rod, the former being articulated with appropriate cylinder head so that ignition plug is arranged between the links. Each cylinder head, on its right side, has intake channel entering the R.H. rocker joint and, on its L.H. side, it enters the L.H. rocker joint. R.H. rocker joint has inlet channel to receive fuel or air, in the case of diesel engine, and exhaust channel. Total length of connecting rods between the axes of their joints does not exceed total length between the axes of rocker joints and that between rocker joint axes in cylinder head.

EFFECT: simpler design, reduced noise and specific fuel consumption.
