ILLUMINATOR BUILT AROUND LEDS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC F21S8/00 

FIELD: illumination.

SUBSTANCE: illuminator, built around LEDs, comprises case with outlet closed by protective cap made of lightproof material, p.c.b. and LEDs connected to the latter. It comprises also heat sink representing a heat-conducting plate. Aforesaid p.c.b. has through orifices, while the said heat sink is arranged behind p.c.b. relative to the case outlet. LEDs cases have bases. LEDs, p.c.b. and heat sink are arranged to let LEDs cases to pass through p.c.b. orifices. LEDs case bases abut on heat sink surface. Note here that heat sink makes the illuminator casing base. Contact element of each LED represents a plate with contact areas and furnished with central hole. LEDs cases pass through p.c.b. hole to arranged LED contact elements on p.c.b. side that faces heat sink. Note that p.c.b. is attached to heat sink for it to be pressed against contact element of LEDs and for LEDs to be pressed against heat sink.

EFFECT: improved operating properties of LEDs.
