FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for AC rolling stock with smooth voltage regulation. Single-phase-direct current converter comprises transformer, rectifier-inverter converter, rectifier-inverter converter control unit, smoothing reactor, motor, voltage sensor, voltage divider, commutator, comparator, reference voltage source and pulse shaper. Rectifier-inverter converter represents a set of eight semiconductor arms of valves forming one or more control zones. Each semiconductor arm of the valves includes n branches, each of which contains one thyristor and m-1 diode. Primary winding of the transformer is connected to the AC supply mains. Outputs of secondary winding of transformer are connected to common connection points of cathode anodes and cathodes of anode group of rectifier-inverter converter. Between outputs of anode and cathode groups of rectifier-inverter converter there connected in series are smoothing reactor and motor. Outputs of control unit of rectifier-inverter converter are connected to corresponding inputs of thyristors of rectifier-inverter converter. Input of voltage sensor is connected in parallel to primary winding of transformer, and its output is connected to input of voltage divider, outputs of which are connected to corresponding first inputs of commutator, output of switch is connected to first input of comparator, second input of which is connected to source of reference voltage, comparator output is connected via pulse shaper to input of control unit of rectifier-inverter converter, output of which is connected to second input of commutator.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of power factor due to reduction of minimum opening angle of thyristors.
