FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of obtaining 1-(5-benzoyl-1,3-dithan-5-yl)-1-ethanol (1), which can be used as a selective extraction agent, sorbent, complexing agent and biologically active substance. The method of obtaining (1) involves reacting hydrogen sulphide saturated aqueous solution of formaldehyde with benzoyl acetone at room temperature 20°C and stirring for 3 hours. Output of the desired product is 24%.
EFFECT: possibility of obtaining said product in a single-stage method using available initial reagents with high regioselectivity.
