FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: AC voltage controller is related to electric engineering and is necessary for supply of controlled electric motors of AC voltage. Controller comprises transformer with secondary winding sectioned into n-parts, two groups of controlled unidirectional switches (thyristors or transistors) from n valves and two groups of n diodes each, besides one subgroup of n controlled unidirectional switches connected serially is coupled by cathode of extreme switch to beginning of transformer secondary winding, and by anode of another extreme switch of subgroup - to one outlet of load, the second group of serially connected controlled switches is connected by anode of extreme switch to beginning of secondary winding of transformer, and by cathode - to the same load lead, moreover, between anodes of serially connected controlled switches of the first subgroup and taps of transformer secondary winding sections there are diodes of the first additional group connected by cathodes to taps, by analogy, between cathodes of serially connected controlled switches of the second subgroup and taps of transformer secondary winding sections there are also diodes of the second additional group connected by anodes to winding taps.

EFFECT: reduced values of inverse voltages at switches, ie higher reliability of operation.
