FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical and electronic industry. Trichlorosilane is produced through catalytic hydrohalogenation of silicon tetrachloride in the presence of hydrogen. The catalyst used is at least one metal or one metal salt, chosen from group two of the periodic table of elements. The reaction is carried out at temperature between 300 and 1000°C.
EFFECT: design of an efficient method of producing trichlorosilane.
