FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry field. Method includes feeding of molten low-alloy carbon steel on foundry surface, at least one casting roller and its solidification on casting rollers with formation of metallic envelopes. Maximal nitrogen and hydrogen consumption in envelopes is defined subject to its content in molten steel. Content of nitrogen and hydrogen at atmospheric pressure is lower than approximately 120 parts per million and free hydrogen - lower than approximately 6.5 parts per million.
EFFECT: receiving of cast strip from low-alloy carbon steel of thickness less than 5 mm or less than 2 mm.
