FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic clamping device for a dolly has field sources fitted along rails. The field sources are flat permanent magnets made from Fe-B-Nd based ceramics, for example and are magnetised vertically. Magnets on one side of the device are aligned with each other, but in reverse with magnets on the other side of the device. Magnets lying opposite about the track are joined by transverse magnetic conductors. The transverse magnetic conductors are made from material with residual magnetisation, for example from steel which contains chrome and carbon. Gaps between flat surfaces of magnets and working surfaces of rails are filled with another porous material with a relatively small coefficient of friction with respect to steel. Each rail has vertically aligned joint bars made from magnetically soft iron on its outer side, the shape of which corresponds to the shape of the rails.
EFFECT: provision for the maximum possible clamping force for narrow-gauge rails per running metre of the track.
